Horsey Seals

This Grey seal colony live around Horsey Gap and spend their time resting in the dunes or on the beach when not in the sea. As such it is a wonderful place to visit and just relax watching and photographing seals along the shore.

During the winter pupping season (November-January) people are asked to stay in the dunes, to avoid disrupting the seals with young pups. There is a car park, and more information is available at www.friendsofhorseyseals.co.uk.

Nearby there is the National Trust Horsey Windpump which is arecently restored windmill use for drainage. Horsey Windpumpis the youngest and largest windpump to be found in the Norfolk Broads. For those that make it to the top, you will be rewarded with some of the most spectacular views in the area.
